Care without constant monitoring

About the app

If a check-in is missed within the chosen interval of 24, 48, or 72 hours, trusted contacts receive an alert by email and WhatsApp. No location tracking.
MorningHello helps you let trusted people know you are okay without turning every day into a phone call. Choose an interval of 24, 48, or 72 hours, open the iPhone app, and tap “I’m OK.” Once the server receives your check-in, a new interval begins.
If your next check-in does not arrive on time, MorningHello alerts up to two confirmed trusted contacts by email and WhatsApp. They can then get in touch with you and make sure everything is okay. The server monitors the interval even when the app is closed or your phone is switched off.
1. Quick setup in App
Before you start using MorningHello, the app will ask you to:
-
review the Terms of Use and confirm your agreement;
-
enter your name, preferred form of address, and your day and month of birth;
-
choose a check-in interval: 24, 48, or 72 hours;
-
add at least one trusted contact;
-
optionally add a second trusted contact;
-
choose whether you would like to see postcards for religious holidays and traditions.
Once setup is complete, the MorningHello home screen will open. You won’t need to enter this information again each time you launch the app.
2. Add your loved ones
MorningHello requires at least one trusted contact. You can add a second person for additional reassurance.
Choose a check-in interval of 24, 48, or 72 hours. This determines how long you have before your next “I’m okay”check-in is expected.
If a new check-in does not reach the MorningHello server within the selected interval, MorningHello sends a notification to your active trusted contacts asking them to get in touch with you and make sure everything is okay.
Your trusted contacts receive an alert when a check-in is missed; the app does not send them a running account of your day.
You need to add one trusted contact to set up monitoring. A second contact is optional. Each contact is asked to confirm that they agree to receive alerts.
3. Let it know you’re okay
Open MorningHello and tap “I’m okay.” The app records the date of your latest check-in and shows you the postcard of the day.
MorningHello does not track your location or ask you to report everything you do.
If you haven’t opened MorningHello for a while, the app may remind you to check in again and let your loved ones know that you’re okay.
4. A postcard after your check-in
Once you have checked in, MorningHello shows you a postcard chosen for the day. It might reflect the season, a holiday, a Monday morning, or a birthday. You can keep it, add a short personal message, or share it with someone you care about. Sending a postcard is always your choice.
The postcard adds a little warmth to the routine, while the “I’m OK” check-in remains the action that tells the server you are okay.
It may be:
-
a holiday postcard;
-
a Monday coffee postcard;
-
a Sunday greeting;
-
a Shabbat postcard;
-
a seasonal greeting.
5. A moment to notice how you feel
MorningHello also gives you space to make a private emotional check-in. You can record how calm or anxious you feel, look back at your entries, and use a short box-breathing exercise when you want to pause.
Your emotional entries stay on your device. They are not sent to trusted contacts and do not replace an “I’m OK” check-in or restart its countdown.
6. Gentle reminders to stay connected
A reminder on your iPhone can prompt you to check in again. MorningHello is also growing beyond the check-in itself, with reminders designed to help you remember the people you want to call, meet, or write to.
These social reminders support real conversations and relationships. They are separate from the automatic alert sent to trusted contacts when an “I’m OK” check-in is missed.
What happens when you open MorningHello
MorningHello greets the user with a message that matches the time of day:
-
“Good morning”
-
“Good afternoon”
-
“Good evening”
-
“Good night”
The opening video, background, mood, and seasonal design of the app also change depending on the time of day and the season.
No continuous location tracking
MorningHello does not track the user’s movements or require continuous access to their location.
To check in, the user only needs a brief internet connection, opens the app, and taps “I’m okay.” Once the server receives the check-in, the countdown for the selected interval starts again.
If there is no internet connection when the button is tapped and the server does not receive the check-in, it cannot be considered complete. The app clearly shows the user whether the check-in was successfully received.
Getting started
-
Create your profile and choose a check-in interval of 24, 48, or 72 hours.
-
Add at least one trusted contact.
-
Ask your contact to confirm that they agree to receive alerts.
-
Tap “I’m OK” before your chosen interval ends.
-
If you wish, enjoy the postcard, record how you feel, or set a reminder to connect with someone.
A check-in needs an internet connection to reach the server. If it cannot be delivered, it has not been completed. MorningHello shows whether the server received it.
MorningHello is not an emergency, medical, or rescue service. It cannot guarantee delivery of every alert and should not be your only way to monitor someone’s safety. If you think someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
MorningHello is not an emergency, medical, or rescue service.
The app does not guarantee message delivery and should not be used as the sole means of monitoring a person’s safety or wellbeing.
Notification delivery depends on internet access, server availability, email service availability, and the accuracy of the contact information provided.

Postcards for the day
The user can choose holiday categories that reflect their family traditions:
-
neutral and international holidays;
-
Orthodox holidays, including fasting periods;
-
Catholic holidays, including fasting periods;
-
Jewish holidays.
In the Holidays Settings, users can view the postcard calendar and choose the categories they would like to see.

Technical Details
Reminders
MorningHello can send a local notification to the user’s iPhone to remind them that it is time to check in again by tapping “I’m OK.”
Local reminders are sent only to the user. If a new check-in is not received within the selected interval, a separate automatic email is sent to the trusted contacts by the MorningHello server.
Local notifications must be enabled in the iPhone settings to receive these reminders.
Trusted Contact Consent
After a trusted contact is added, MorningHello sends them an email asking them to confirm that they agree to receive notifications.
Until consent is confirmed, the contact is not included in the alert process and does not receive notifications.
The contact can accept the invitation, decline it, or withdraw their consent later. If their email address or phone number is changed, consent must be confirmed again.
Care Without Control
MorningHello is not designed for tracking and does not replace personal communication.
The app helps you take a small first step: let your loved ones know that you’re okay and send someone you care about a warm sign of attention.
How automatic alerts work
Some MorningHello data is stored locally on the iPhone. To enable automatic alerts, the app also sends the user’s name, preferred form of address, selected check-in interval, time of the last check-in, time zone, and trusted contact details to a secure server.
The server independently monitors the selected interval. If a new “I’m OK” check-in is not received on time, it will attempt to send an email to the trusted contacts.
This allows the feature to work even when the app is not open or the user’s phone is later turned off.
Your Ideas Help MorningHello Grow
From the Settings View of the app, you can:
-
suggest a postcard for a new holiday;
-
share an idea for a new feature;
-
report a problem;
-
send me a message.
It is important to me to develop MorningHello based on the real needs of the people who use it.
The app will prepare a message that you can edit and send by email or through Messages. Nothing is sent without your confirmation.
